Annual Retiree Salute

The San Francisco Alliance of Black School Educators sponsors an Annual Retiree Salute and Scholarship Celebration. We honor our retiring African American/ Black San Francisco Unified School District employees for their years of service.

We want our retirees to know that their tireless efforts and dedication are appreciated. We ask the retirees to submit a short bio and picture that is placed in a program/slide presentation.  At our in-person Salute, we sponsor a banquet, where we decorate our room with African colors, serve a delectable meal prepared by an African American caterer, hire a small band and our honorees dance through a” Soul Train Line” as a final goodbye. They are presented with a framed certificate as a special tribute from our organization, SFABSE.

Date & Time

The event occurs on the 1st Thursday of May at 5:30 pm.  This is an annual event.
