Linda Martley-Jordan is the Community Liaison at Burton High School and the past African American Achievement and Leadership Initiative(AAALI), Post Secondary Pathway, Manager of San Francisco Unified School District. Ms. Jordan is committed to ensuring access to educational programs, resources, and structures to the diverse African American communities whose children are educated in SFUSD schools. She creates, collaborates, and implements culturally relevant educational and college prep programs to serve youth from all over San Francisco.
Ms. Martley-Jordan partners with community-based organizations aimed at engaging students and their families in completing high school successfully with post-secondary options and scholarships. The main focus of her work is creating pathways to increase students' acceptance into the California State University, the University of California campuses and the Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) . Another passion of Ms. Jordan's is working in collaboration with different central office departments and the San Francisco Alliance of Black School Educators(SFABSE) in developing a strong college-going culture for students.
Ms. Martley-Jordan is the founding and current Chairperson of the annual Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Fair sponsored by SFABSE, SFUSD-AAALI, and the United College Action Network (UCAN). Over 45 colleges and universities have provided on-site admission and scholarships to their institutions to SFUSD high school graduates since 2010.
